Moth evening - Southington Lane

Return to the list of reports

On Friday 28th May 2004 the O.B.S. organised a moth evening open to the public. Mike Wall, Peter Hutchins and Nick Montegriffo set up three moth traps in a garden in Southington Lane. The list of species attached here presents the moths caught on the night until midnight and moths found in one trap left running overnight: in all, 200 moths of 70 species.

The undoubted highlight on the night was a NETTED PUG, a lovely moth that was new for all of us. For pictures and information on individual species check the Hants Moths web site. You may search in the systematic list there, either by species name or species number (in bold in the species list here).
