Goat Willow or Sallow, Salix caprea

 	   - Large oval leaves, up to 12cm long (5in), with short twisted point at the tip. Dark green and
		        'leathery' above and grey underneath.
- Catkins in March-April, before the leaves. Oval shaped, covered with silver hairs before opening and
				     then bright yellow (male catkins) or greenish (female catkins).
